Tonight was historic. Barack Obama, an African-American was nominated by the Democratic Party to be the president of the United States of America.
Over the past four days the Democrats have layed out their case of why Obama should be the next president of the USA, and I must admit ... it's convincing. The Republicans have their work cut out for them.
But what got me pissed off was the Republican's Response on Larry King Live on CNN after Obama's speech. One of the comments was made was how Obama did not talk about 9/11 (which he did) and how BUSH has kept us safe, and there hasn't been another attack on us since then.
I disagree, president Bush has not kept us safe. Unless I am mistaken just under 3,000 people were killed on 9/11. 2,740 of them American citizens. Since then due to Bush's brilliant plan of invading Iraq 4,150 Americans have died as a result of military casuaties, and 30,568 have been wounded (officially) according to this website. That is not keeping America safe! (Just as an aside, 4,000 of those american deaths was after "mission accomplished")
So in conclusion, Republican's have a LOT of making up to do if they want to redeem their party.
